India Post will release the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Recruitment 2026 notification on January 31, announcing approximately 28,740 vacancies across various postal circles in the country.

The recruitment drive is aimed at filling posts in rural and branch post offices and offers an opportunity for Class 10 qualified candidates to secure employment in the postal department without a written examination.

Total of 28,740 posts are expected to be filled across different states and postal circles. Higher vacancy numbers are Corted in states such as Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Kerala. Eligibility Criteria
✓ Educational Qualification
✓ Candidates must have passed Class 10 from a recognised board,
✓ Mathematics and English must be subjects at the secondary level.
✓ Knowledge of the local language of the concerned postal circle is mandatory.

Application Process
